Oblong Trail Association
In 2000, a group of landowners and concerned citizens established the Oblong Trail Association (OTA), a membership trail organization. Under the auspices of the Oblong Land Conservancy, the Trail Association has developed an equestrian and pedestrian trail network dedicated to promoting the appreciation of the unique natural resources of our community. The plan for this network envisions over 100 miles of bridle and walking trails through the eastern hills of Pawling.
OTA promotes responsible equestrian trail riding, and sponsors educational and competitive events. The nature trails committee has designed interpretive signage to explain the natural communities the trail system passes.
The Pawling region is blessed with great beauty and rich ecological resources. This trail system allows the riding public to experience these treasures first-hand, and to understand and appreciate the importance of preserving our unique community.
